Blueberry Scones From Bobbette and Belle {Recipe}

Wednesday I shared some interior shots from the cute Toronto bakery, Bobbette & Belle. Today I am sharing a delicious recipe from the bakery! I love scones and these blueberry ones did not disappoint! The flavor and texture was similar to shortcake. With the berries and some whipped cream these are the perfect dessert, or simply have them with butter for breakfast or with tea.

Bobbette & Belle’s Blueberry Scones

Makes 8

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter in small pieces
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • frozen blueberries to taste

 In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Using a pastry blender, add butter until it forms a crumbly texture. Stir in buttermilk and vanilla until dough forms. Portion dough into 8 parts. While forming the scones add the berries into the dough. Do not handle the dough much after the berries are added, this keeps the dough from turning purple. Place scones onto a non-stick baking sheet and bake at 375 Fahrenheit on the middle rack for approximately 20 minutes or until golden. Remove from oven and place on cooling racks. Enjoy!
